Disneyland Hong Kong!

My playground or 'amusement park' when i was little has always been BIG, HUGE and DANGEROUS..pun intended. But I must admit that I was lucky to experience one of the best childhood moments during those days. My family shifted from one places to another and from so called high rise building to a flat to a kampung to a quarters to a creepy house behind the RUMAH MAYAT to a kampung house and finally a normal residential area that I love going back on any given weekends. So talking about playground, I'm pretty sure every one of us have at least one thing that gives us goosebumps just by a mention of its name.

Well, after a loud cheering crowd experience at the Barclay Asian Trophy yesterday, we decided to visit the iconic Disneyland! The weather was so HOT, it was like burning to the skin AND same goes with our spirit. Every souls who visit Disneyland will always find themselves being kids. And as I stepped in, I couldn't help myself but feeling very very happy and excited. The music, the signboards, the fountain and the characters statue just bring me back to my childhood memories. All those wonderful Disney characters that I've been watching and dreaming came true AGAIN as I ventured in for some magical adventure! This, I must give credits to TUNE TALK! :)

We started our journey that morning with a scrumptious brekkie at PANDA hotel. Then we took the MTR and head to DISNEYLAND!

Even the window screen are designed that way. it was packed inside!
Finally we are HERE. Welcome to HONG KONG Disneyland!

Let's explore Disneyland HK

HK Disneyland just turned 5 years old this year. This is my 2nd visit to the magical Disneyland, first when I visited Tokyo, Japan in 2010. The HK Disneyland is smaller but most of the rides are slightly different from the ones in Tokyo. Some shows are distinctively available only in certain countries so it was nice to actually explore them as you'll get pleasant surprises for that.
I am 5 today!
First and foremost, we decided to meet Mickey and Minnie. The line are pretty okay as it was still early in the morning. But it was really hot so lining up under the sun for a good 25 minutes leave you in sweats. Ensure to drink plenty of water! We also checked out their souvenir store that offer so many merchandize from Tshirt to keychain to figurines that you could buy. TIPs: If you want to get it for cheaper price, buy them at Disneyland outlet in the airport before leaving. Up to 50% discount I must add!. :)  There are so many other mascots that bumped to appeared on different venue, so get a map and check out their schedule as well as appearance timing.
Finally we managed to meet the iconic Mickey and Minnie
Chip and Dale!
Inside one of the souvenir shop

Our first live stage show was The Lion King. It was BIG, HUGE and dramatic. The dancers, props and music remind you of the adaption cartoon itself. It was simply wonderful!
The Lion King show was awesome!  with TImba and Bumba
So many characters !
Colourful props came to live..Dramatically
Once finished, we quickly head outside for other rides. We waited for almost 30 minutes for each show except for the jungle ride (as they have in English version too which makes the line -EMPTY..) so dont be fool with the loooong queue, they are lining up for the CANTOnese version..hahhaa...the 4D show was really magical, I simply love it. Not only i could see but feel and smell the good delicious cakes and desserts! haha..There are also these cool rides and GOLDEN MICKEY show and many mores. Totally feel like being a kid again. Well you just have to come here to experience it yourself!

view from the TARZAN TREEHOUSE!
We then line up for the next meet and greet, that includes PLuto, Goofy, Mickey (again), some fairy tale princesses like Snow White, Belle & Cinderella. Some young girls actually dress like a princess to get themselves pictures with the characters. But some just plain tired and decided to have some sugar rush..:P
Snow white!
some princess decided to take a rest
We met PLuto the dog..
Mickey on a cruise
After all the games, rides and watching the live stage shows, our stomach started to grumble and we head to one of the eateries for late lunch.
Grace's lunch

I wanted to try the Duck but finished, so I settled with chicken, so so DELICIOUS!
It's a small world!cool setting inside with puppets from all around the world customes..NICE RIDE!

This is one of the coolest ride with explosion, volcanic mountain, effects and water bursting on the air right in front of us!
Hahah..
After all those crazy rides, we waited at the street for the colourful and full of funs parade. The crew and dancers are pretty energetic and enthusiastic dancing away while smiling gleefully entertaining the crowd.

Toy Story come alive
Crowd are cheering for their favorite characters
There are few parts and one of the sci-fi was this Tomorrowland where you could find space ship and venture into some adrenalin pumping roller-coaster liked inside.

:) :)
It is starts to get dark and announcement was made that it might soon to rain. Then it started to drizzle...OH NO...coz the latest announcement was shall the rain continue to pour, there would not be any fireworks tonite. With that kinda announcement, ive started to feel disappointed a little already. Pray that it will stop coz i want to see the fireworks! I missed it in Tokyo coz of the same darn thing..heavy rain!..:(  So we took another ride inside the It's A Small World 'mansion' !

It's a small world MANSION..at night..
with the cute little moving puppets and music, i feel so happy and bliss

And finally as the night strike 9 pm, my dream to watch the fireworks with the WALT DISNEY palace as the backdrop since I was a little girl came true. I can now sleep well tonite..hahaha

And finally we stayed back for the fireworks at 9pm!
Thank you TUNE TALK as because of them, we managed to squeeze some cool itinerary including visit to Disneyland along this trip.!

2011 Barclay Asia Trophy Cup at HONG KONG by TuneTALK!

Ok i know that the fever of screaming girls  at their Chelsea/Aston Villa/Blackburn Rovers idols and not forgetting the football fanatic guys shouting or chanting for their role models has probably subside by now. But allow me to refresh you out there for this mega 2011 Barclay Asia Trophy Cup that create waves of supporters from none other than a metropolitan city called HONG KONG. Well, thanks to TUNE TALK as I was one of the chosen winners from their facebook slogan contest. Its time for some revisit to this city.
Just 2 days before 27th July 2011 (where the first match will be held), I received a call from the P-I-C (Yuva) of TUNETALK that i've won. I was excited but then i realized my passport validity are less than 6 months that night itself..Gulp!!. To cut the story short, just put it as i managed to renew my passport in the nick of time before the time strike 4pm at the immigration office. phew! Got my tickets from AirAsia ticketing office at KLSentral earlier. With short notice and very little time, my travelling partner, Grace managed to did some research on what to do list once we reach there..
HELLO HONG KONG! The biggest airplane i have ever seen..with 800 seats and its double deck!
HONG KONG airport
So upon touched down, we quickly get our luggage and I am so excited to discover Hong Kong again. The first time when i was here it was year 2007, but I only managed to be here for like less than 12 hours. hehe..dont ask! Anyway this trip going to be 5 days so it was something I would not miss to discover as many things as possible.
Taxi stand
Since it was almost 12 of us (the winners/bloggers and TuneTALK rep (Biresh) we decided to take taxi separately as it is much cheaper and hassle-free compare to take by train /bus. Took us about 30 minutes to reach our destination which was KungFu PANDA Hotel. Met the cool CEO of TUNETALK, Mr Jason Lo, his lovely wife and adorable kids. A brief introduction and after 20 minutes, we finally managed to check in. We were given the VIP tickets for the Barclay Asia Trophy for tonight matches between Aston Villa+BlackBurn Rovers and Kitchee and Chelsea.
Finally we arrived in a land full of  kungfu pandas..it is after all, the cute PANDA HOTEL!
Thank you TUNE TALK for these wonderful opportunity..You rocks!
Can somebody tell me why I cant bring back these cute PANDAs???
After chucked in our bags and freshen up, we are ready to explore..But first, we had our lunch because I was so hungry! The room was ok, I think they gave us the smoking room but it is quite spacious since Hong Kong are famous for tiny and limited space rooms. So this is a great crib for the next 5 days. SWEETT!!!
The room, clean bathroom, with tv, and spacious space.I couldn't ask for more. :)

Panda Hotel located at Tsuen Wan street. MTR in HK makes our life so much at ease
After a plain lunch of Portuguese rice by the street, we head to the nearest MTR station which was about close to 20 minutes walk, well we walked the wrong path and ended up at the last station (Tsuen Wan). But we figured out that it is closer to Tai Wo hau station close to 10 minutes walk only on the next day..hehehe
MTR Station are clean
Then we head down to Times Square for some sight seeing and walk around Mong Kok before heading our way to Hong Kong stadium which was almost 15 minutes walk from the nearest MTR station.
Saw it, HONG KONG  stadium ..here we come!
A signature building of Charity organization in HK
Double deck bus, trams and high rise building are the norm here
So as we get closer to the stadium, we could hear the cheering crowd and some Chelsea fans chanting their theme song. And after much walking, we finally saw the glimpse of the much talk about and the only stadium in Hong Kong- The Hong Kong Stadium.
colourful
queuing for their tickets
Our VIP entrance .ehehe..
It was hot and humid! but that doesnt stop the crowd from watching their favorite players on the run
Come and get it..its complimentary!
The players
Pardon my lack of knowledge in the football field, but I started to enjoy it as the cheering crowd really makes the whole atmosphere to a new horizon of excitement and thrilling. So Aston Villa won by 1-0 over Blackburn Rovers
Where is the ball?
As you can see the VIP seats are pretty empty. Not until before the Chelsea and Kitchee match..it was full house!
See i told ya!
Kitchee (China local team) lost to Chelsea, the final score was 4-0. I will try to upload some videos later as the line are pretty slow at this moment.

After that we left early to witness the colourful laser show or also known as Symphony of Lights along the Avenue of Stars. All are basically within walking distance from the nearest MTR. You just need to get used to the colours and last station as guidance.
The Symphony of Lights at Avenue of Stars. the laser show last for like maybe 5 minutes only. But it was a breathtaking view at night

Then we head to Mongkok street.
Some piece of art there

And to LADIES MARKET for some shopping...hehehe
So many things to see
We took our dinner at one of the small restaurants over there. Didn't have much problem for me even though i dont take pork or beef as the variety of food are endless. I guessed it was one of the BEST stirred prawn with broccoli I've ever had in my entire life..LOL..the prawn was fresh and the broccoli cook to its perfection that you could feel the flavor of the green with plain sauce on every bites.
Let's eat
Yummy!!!
Typical dine in place at HK..tiny tables, tiny chairs and tiny space. but the portion are quite big

The iced lemon tea was also nice..with lots of lemon slices in it

Street food
Finally after dinner and some sight seeing, we decided to head to our hotel as the last train will be at 1130pm. Hong Kong is kinda safe to me at certain area, language are a bit hard if you don't speak or at least understand Cantonese. English are not so mainly used unless in the main city. But overall, it was really a good experience being in the football pitch at a different country and watching the match from a VIP seat row was also ignite the thrill. And this is only the first day! Wanna know where we are up to in HK on the following day? Be sure to watch out this space..it's going to be fun!

Thank you TUNE TALK for this great opportunity. Check out their website/facebook page as more line up coming up for you to seize it.
